Die Studie untersuchte die vorbeugende Wirkung von Resveratrol auf den altersbedingten Knochenverlust und den Schutz von Resveratrol auf die Auswirkungen von Inaktivität auf die Knochensubstanz. <br />
Die Studie wurde placebokontrolliert durchgeführt.<br />
Die mit Resveratrol supplementierten Tiere verbesserte dei Demineralisation und verminderte den Verlust die Microarchitektur. <br />
Die Messung der Knochenmasse wurde mit Röntgenstrahlung und Computertomographie druchgeführt.<br />
Die Blutplasmawerte von Osteocalcin und Alkalin Phosphatase ware höher<0,04) und das C-reaktive Protein (Eintzündungsparameter) war erniedrigt (p=0,04) bei den mit Resveratrol behandelten Tieren.<br />
Der knochenschützende Effekt von Resveratrol scheint durch einen erhöhte Knochenaufbau durch Osteoblasten und durch eine verringerte Entzündung bedingt zu sein.<br />
Resveratrol könnte demnach ein sinnvoller Wirkstoff bei altersbedingten Knochenschwund und während Phasen von Inaktivität (zB Rehabilitationsphasen) darstellen. <br />
